I was wondering if the "Comments" and "Send to friend" features of the ZLDNN Photo Gallery could be disabled? They don't work on our system and I'd rather hide them than have users see error messages.

Hi, i'm having a problem uploading my pictures using ftp.  Im adding some pictures to my portal, and place these in the older Portals/0/fotos
After adding some directorys (about 25 with a total of approx 500 pics) i press synchronize database.
After some time i get the following error:
Request timed out. Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code. Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Request timed out.'

In this case i don't see my pictures when i choose the option "Add existing photo(s)".

So i wondered, is it possible, to change the location (Directory) from here i can upload my pictures, or is is default the root of my portal. I want to choose files from the root of my host instead. Can i change this?

Module Wrapper 4.3 now displays two modules when I try to wrap it.  Meaning if I am trying to wrap a Text\HTML module it shows that module and the one its wrapping.

We wanted to change the text "Ask a Question" to "Email a Question".  So I went into the ZLDNN_FAQ.ascx file and made the changes, but the text on the control does not change, any suggestions? 

I asked you the question below several months ago about sharing modules from one portal to another. Now I have puchased Module Wrapper 4.2 and I cannot get it to work the way I want. I log into site B as admin (this login also exists on site A and is in the Administrators role on both) Then on site B I have added a Module Wrapper and set it to select from Host. Then I pick site A in the portal list but the only pages that appear in the the pages list are pages where the view permissions are set to All Users. Why can't I see all the pages?

My Original Question:

site. On both sites all pages are for Registered Users (or other roles)
only. If I inject a module that is on a Registered Users only page on
site A into a page on site B that is also Registered Users only, will it
be visible on site B? Likewise, if a module is on a 'IT Department' only

inject it into site B?

Thanks for your question. If you inject a module that is on a Registered
Users only page on site A into a page on site B that is also Registered
Users only, it will be visible on site B. However, if the module that
you want to inject has inactive function,I do not suggest you do so.
Some functions will not work properly when the module is shadowed in
other portal. I suggest only "pure" content modules shadowed in other
portals, such as TEXT/HTML,Links, contacts,faqs,etc.

The Slide Show module: The transition being images of different size is not very smooth. The old image is resized to match the new image, this results in a distorted image shown before the new image is displayed. Can something be done about this please.

Your referral analyzer is almost perfect for an application I have in mind, and I wondered is you would be willing to quote me for modifying it to provide exactly the functionality I require?

What I am after is a way of tracking and monitoring clicks from Pay Per Click (PPC - e.g. Google Adwords) campaigns. I have developed code for non-DNN sites that does this by looking for a URL parameter (e.g. CampaignID). When I set up the PPC campaign, I append to the URL I want the visitor to be taken to this parameter and set its value to be the keyword e.g. "www.zldnn.com?CampaignID=DotNetNuke Modules"

When my code (in non-DNN sites I use an HTTP module for this), recognizes the CampaignID parameter, it creates a database record that contains the keyword, the time the click was received and the IP address of the visitor.

I do a couple of other things that I would want to see in the DNN module.

The first of these is click fraud detection. This counts the number of clicks in a given period (usually one hour) from the same IP address. If the number of clicks from a given IP address is greater than a certain threshold, I assume that somebody is trying to use my budget up, and I a) record this information and b) re-direct the visitor to a page that tells them I have detected this behaviour. The information I record can be downloaded as a spreadsheet (CSV file) and forwarded to the search engine and they will refund the cost of the clicks from that IP address.

The second additional behaviour is to monitor "conversion events" This would be, say, when the visitor who has arrived at the site via a PPC keyword goes all the way through to the "Checkout Complete" page. When this occurs, I set a boolean field in the database record for that keyword/visit. The way I see this being implemented with DNN would be to have a module which could be added invisibly to a page which would pick up a session variable that contains the keyword (from the inbound URL parameter) and sets the conversion field.

Like you, I present the data graphically to site administrators (I use zed graph). I show the total number of clicks in a time period set by the user (by hour, by day, by week, by month, by quarter, by year using T-SQL statements). For each period I show the total number of clicks and the number of conversions for each keyword. This enable my clients to see which keywords are bring traffic, and which successfully lead to a conversion.

This code is pretty straighforward, but I really like your referral analyzer, and figured it might be easier to ask you how much it would be to convert it to add this functionality than work out how to do it in the context of DNN for myself (I have never developed a DNN module and have a bit of a deadline to get this implemented). I also think that it would give you a very desriable and unique product for DNN.

I'd be grateful to know if you think this is something you want to do, and if so, how much you would charge. I would be quite happy if you wanted to offer the finished module for sale as I think it is something that a professional webmaster would be very happy to see.

I have an error that appears on the ZLDNN Photo Album module page.

The error that is thrown is:

" A critical error has occurred.
MinMax persistance type of cookie requires a ModuleId "

I have DNN 3.2.2 installed, and ZLDNN Photo Album version 02.01.00.

The weird thing is that it only appears to throw this error on dial-up internet connections, and it was working about a week ago. No changes have been made either to the site settings or the server settings, so I am unsure as how to proceed. I have limited knowledge of both DNN and the .NET framework.

I have tested it on an ADSL line, a cable line and a dial-up connection and it only happens on the dial-up connection.

I purchased PhotoAlbum and I really like it. Does the job and is simple to use. I would like to be able to set a default size on all the photos instead of having to set it when I upload. Is there a way for me to set a default size If the photo is larger (640x480) and it will be that size all the time.

Early, I asked you about an error. Yesterday, We have bought M. Wrapper SE. (Snowcovered receipt SCI-100320 - Oscar Cancela) and we have the following error when activate the module: "A critical error has occurred.
Could not load type 'DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.SolPartActions' from assembly 'DotNetNuke, Version=4.3.7.14114, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'..

We have DNN 4.3.*. How is possible to resolve this ? We have to upgrade DNN or it's  possible to obtain the Module Wrapper right version  or patch ? The cost ?

what differences are there in this release versus 1.04.00

We have recently purchased the Advanced FAQ module via Snowcovered and we like what we see. However I have a number of questions that I hope you can answer:

• How do I turn off the ability for the answer to be a hyperlink? In other words, we don't want the user to have the ability to click on the answer to contract the question/answer again (simply clicking the question again would be ok but ideally a button of some sort informing them to minimize the question/answer would be excellent). We would like to have the answer available without being wrapped as a hyperlink.
• How do remove the Q1, Q2, etc from the quesions? We can see how this is done for when the answers are displayed (using the templates) but they are always on when a question hasn't been expanded.
• It would be a great feature to have the ability to restrict access to categories by Security Role. I know you can restrict who can ask questions, etc but only displaying certain catergories to certain roles would be a nice feature as well.

Hi  I have a layout problem with the slide show.

There is a <br> tag at the end of the slideshow image placeholder, which causes a blank space in the middle of my page format. 

Am I able to remove this tag in some way?

Hi. Why doesnt the questions that come in use the senders email address?It always appears to come from the email address associatd with the portal host..

For example. I am emailing you this question.. when you recieve it,it will come from the portal host email address. When you answer it, i will recieve an email with the answer in my mail box that will come from the portal host email address as well.

Questions:

Is there a way that the senders address can be shown or a way to enter a different address to be displayed as the from address instead of the email address associated with the portal host.?

Will this fix the problem that I am having with my standard FAQs module--when the administrator enters a FAQ, the answer loads quickly.  When someone else logins in, they don't see the FAQ answer?

I keep getting an error from your site when I try to download the Users Guide for the Advanced FAQ module.  Would you please just email it to me?

Secondly, does this import from the current core DNN FAQ module?  I have quite a few FAQs already but need your module to display categories.  I don't want to have to type those all back in.
